As is the custom of previous years, this year Barcelona once again has its own Christmas festival that will be held from December 17 to 30 and will have the Catalunya and University squares as the center of events. These parties aim to attract more visits, both from foreigners and residents, thus enlivening the Christmas spirit of the city.
Plaza Cataluña
Plaza Cataluña is considered the center or heart of the city of Barcelona, so there is no more emblematic and accessible place to celebrate the most magical and luminous time of the year. The party will begin at 11 a.m., full of highly attractive activities for the little ones in the house. The activities will be divided into 7 types and vary from theatrical performances to educational games for children to have fun and improve their learning skills.
Once night begins to fall, the fun for the elderly begins, a square full of musical sessions such as that of Sonido Tupinamba starting at 4:30 p.m., who will be the resident DJ at the Barcelona Christmas Festival. Starting at 5:00 p.m., the rhythmic relay will take place in the group of ten women Balkan Paradise Orchestra.
Finally, the program every day from 8 to 9 p.m. has prepared, except for December 24, a fusion of opera with circus, with a show by Lluís Danés produced by the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Barcelona City Council called ¨La Christmas Tower¨.

Plaza Universidad
The University Square will become a fantastic space, a group of screens will be installed, thanks to OFFF Barcelona, a platform for digital arts and design, which will allow the visitor to experience a world of dreams. This presentation is called ‘Solstici’, and is based on a powerful technology that creates interpretations of the winter solstice, thus celebrating the arrival of winter. The schedule of this event will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
