Barcelona is world famous for many things but one makes us particularly proud is that is a cosmopolitan city. People, as well as the neighborhoods and spaces of the city make it a magical destination to discover.
On this occasion, we show you one of our favorite districts which is a living representation of this mix of people, languages, epochs and influences. Appreciate its streets, squares and walls, they have much to tell!
We’re talking about the Gothic Quarter which belongs to the district of Ciutat Vella. Its name comes from its abundant Gothic architecture that can be seen in the cathedral of Barcelona, in Plaça del Rei and the famous bridge in carrer del Bisbe.

This neighborhood, the oldest of all in the city, was born on the ruins of the ancient Roman city Barcino. If you decide to lose yourself in its streets you can still find some remains of Roman walls.
This neighborhood is one of those places that must be walked slowly and calmly to enjoy what remains of the glorious past of the city.
Another mandatory stop has to be Plaça Sant Felip Neri, this place was bombed during the Civil War and today its walls have been marked for life.
